The Homelessness of Sevvie Rose

Hello! My name is Jennie 'sevvie' Rose, and I help the homeless directly, while being homeless myself. I serve as an advocate for the disenfranchised men and women of Seattle's streets and shelters, offering friendship, acceptance and community to those who have been discarded by the very society in which they try to survive, in addition to a rather aggressive voice with which to stand up for their rights and self.

Unfortunately, this campaign of homeless support and service reform has led to the homeless services company in Seattle evicting me from what little home I had left, leaving me homeless and without options in the Seattle area. The money is needed to invest in a new apartment for myself and Elty, in order to serve as my base of operations for continued works of activism as well as following through with the legal recourses available to me as a disabled and homeless person whose rights have been rather solidly violated; at the moment, it does not appear my levying of lawsuits against the Downtown Emergency Services Center will render me a compensated apartment for the duration of the lawsuit and I must turn to you all for assistance in surviving through the lawsuit.

To me, this is everything. My life has been given such deep value in the opportunity to assist the homeless men who have become my family on these damp Seattle streets, and being able to stabilize my situation so I might fight this lawsuit and generate reform for them, and those who will follow. In supporting me, you are uplifting the worlds of many homeless men and women, as well as giving me an opportunity to do something so few else are so effectively positioned to do: show the world its hypocrisy.
