The Fresh Blood Project is an ongoing collaborative movement between composers and percussionists.
The project began with a showcase concert on October 31st, 2019. The beautiful sanctuary of Knox United Church in Winnipeg saw 1 Winnipeg premiere and 7 world premieres of percussion music. This concert was made possible by the generous support of Groundswell, as a part of their Groundfloor concert series.
The next installment of the Fresh Blood Project will be a recital of marimba music. On February 8th, 2020, Crescent Fort Rouge United Church will host an evening of both familiar and unfamiliar pieces arranged for the marimba, and also the premier of a new work by a Winnipeg-based composer. The program will include solo marimba, as well as duets with voice, and duets with piano. More information will become available as we approach the concert date.
Your support of the Fresh Blood Project will contribute to:
-Artist fees (both performers and composers)
-Rentals (both facilities and equipment)
-Printed materials (posters, programs, tickets)
