Woman's goal 2 build a Film Studio
Hello! My name is Carol Dorn. My goal here is to secure basic funds to continue the work of raising major funds to buy the buildings for a film studio. We have a terms sheet on the perfect property that cannot be shown here (because it's not secured). The only amount needed for that stage is approximately $372K - that amount would secure the property, pay for the inspections, engineers, permits, legal fees etc. But TODAY - this is what is needed for the immediate.
I have worked in the business for 30+ years and have worked both in front and behind the camera, and sometimes in the office! Film and television has been one of the America's most important exports to the world not only financially but inspirationally.
Why Danbury?
1) Danbury is just 60 miles outside NYC. That is near enough to be considered "day rates" for any industry professionals (union etc) coming from NYC, Westchester or other parts of CT.
2) The Studio will bring countless jobs to the area, not only during the construction phase but once up & running we will need security, secretarial, maintenance, landscaping, housekeeping, and production assistance. And our hope is to hire women veterans in that group as well!
3) The Studio will boost the local economy through a steady flow of sales in everything from lumber and finishings (paint etc) to clothing for costuming to food services and potentially local housing and & hotels.
4) Educational/Community involvement: I have teamed up with an area technical high school who will be involved on every level of the build and ongoing activities. They will help with construction, electrical, plumbing, & HVAC. The CGI students will be doing all of the film students F/X (for free as part of their schooling)
5) Not since the Hat factories of the old days had there been a potential for Danbury to build on a very profitable industry and make a strong and long lasting mark in a history making industry. And because this is a home-grown business it will be here to stay!
6) The Studio will bring additional cultural opportunities to the community through screenings and Q&A's of notable people in the industry.
7) The Film School will provide job training through film classes that will be offered at an extremely affordable rate, where students will also be working on productions coming into the facility.
Why Now?
There is a clear and definite need that a studio like this is needed in the greater NYC area. The only other film
studios in the vicinity are in Brooklyn and there is a three year waiting list to book those. In addition, with CGI
now in such high demand this studio would offer the latest in infinity green screen technology, 4k live streaming, two post production studios, a looping studio and a screening room.
The total amount needed to secure the property (so I can fully disclose location etc) is $372K. I am looking for key investors who are interested in getting this project off the ground. I have a solid business plan that I will share with those who are legitimately interested. Consulting professionals have said this business model and the location are so ideal it could be snatched up from under my nose.
