The Crilly Trilogy

Donation protected
Joseph Crilly was one of the finest playwrights to come out of the North of Ireland in recent decades. Described by The Guardian as "Ulster's Martin MacDonagh" and by The Daily Telegraph as "another great Irish playwright", his plays cast a withering eye on The Troubles.
Here for the first time together are three of his finest plays, On McQuillan's Hill, Second Hand Thunder and Kitty and Damnation with an introduction by Dr Mark Phelan, a lecturer in drama at Queens University Belfast, and individual introductions to each play by his friends, the actor Ruairi Conaghan, and the television producer Stephen Wright.
Joe died tragically by suicide in 2017.  This book honours his memory and the brilliant work he produced as a playwright.
"I was blown away by the tumbling, lyrical flow of language and the relish of telling a tale. The sheer energy of the dialogue: raw and piercing, adventurous and full of mischievous glee. Taste the writing, savour the man. Rest in peace, my friend" - Hugh Bonneville (actor)

We are seeking donations to assist the publication of this collection of Joe’s plays.  All those who donate €20 or more will receive a copy of the book. Any money raised above our target will go to The Crilly Estate.
