Hi all just a quick update a few more pieces have been removed cleaned and reinstated on the loco including the balance pipe, as it is coming towards the winter months I will have to give my attention to some other things on site at the rhts but I might still find one to repaint Cherwell ready for the summer, but please don’t let this discourage you from donating as the more donations we get the quicker the project will get started and finished. I would also like to mention that we have raised more money than the amount shown on the page, and we have around £1000 raised from the start of this project! Once again thanks to all that are supporting this project
Hi everyone, we’ve had a very productive day removing the left hand side coupling and connection rods (the ones facing away from the platform) and have kept them in a secured shed that is being cleared out for the Cherwell project, please feel free to give any further donations it really helps us to get the project off the ground, we have also made it in to the heritage railway magazine on page 42!!,
Hello everyone just a quick update, we are starting to dismantle the locomotive but we have had to wait for a storage unit to keep all of the parts, we are currently looking for one on site to clear out then parts can be kept safely in one place but we need more funding and even with other fund raising options we are not going to reach our 6 month goal of £1,000, so would people consider spreading the word or possibly donating a bit more, we are also setting up a regular donations scheme and a members pack that will give supporters exclusive info and items, we have now also acquired some drawings and some specifications, I will conclude this update with a massive thank you for the support so far and a picture of Cherwell at daventry, we also have a Facebook page, @thecherwellproject
Hello everyone, we are now looking to buy some parts for Cherwell, and to start off this project we are going to purchase the works plates and nameplates! But to do this we need loads of help, to start with the works plates have been quoted to cost £440 so I think we should set this as our first target! So let’s see if we can raise this by the wnd of the month!!!
