We decided to update this journal, first so we could keep track of our own information, but also so we didn't have to keep repeating ourselves.

We had a doctors appointment that morning, and after seeing a couple of the results, our wonderful doctor decided it would probably be best to induce that afternoon. So we quick headed to the school, let them know if need a sub, and then packed our bags and headed to the hospital. I had gone into false labor before in Mitchell a few days prior, so we were excited to have her at home where we knew all her doctors and nurses.

They began giving me drugs at 12:15, but I was having a hard time dilating. So they really started to speed the process along. However, randomly during my labor, my heart rate would drop and they were having a hard time figuring out what exactly was causing it. It never got dangerously unsafe, but it was causing me to throw up anything they gave me. Because of this, they were constantly monitoring Charlotte's heartbeat as wellthe contractions and pain started getting overwhelming that night and they started preparing me for an epidural. Before I had been fully prepped, they lost the baby's heartbeat and switched to an internal monitor. While placing the monitor, they realized she was wrapped in the cord and would need to be an emergency C-section. They gave the epidural and prepped the team for surgery About twenty minutes later, I was in the operating room.

During surgery, they realized that she was completely tangled in her cord. My doctor, who has delivered hundreds if not thousands of babies, said it was the worst she's ever seen. When they were able to get her untangled, she was rushed over and immediately given a breathing tube and 30 straight minutes of CPR. She had several body parts that were completely oxygen deprived. Because of the breathing tube,we were never able to hear her cry to know that she was okay. Kameron and I were praying relentlessly in that room, waiting for signs of life. They were able to get her breathing through the machine, but told us she would have to be transferred. They immediately began calling in a team for transport and prepping her to leave.
