Charity Cycle Down Under 2018

Donation protected
Having won the 2017 Isle of Wight Radio's Local Hero Award for Sporting Acheivement, the sponsor of the award Island Riding Centre have been very closely assisting me with my continued fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK. They we a little shocked when they found out that on my fourthcoming fundraising trip i was paying for everything myself and have suggested that i should at least be helped with the cost of my accomodation. On the 1st January I will leave the UK for Australia to start the 2018 fundraising season in aid of Prostate Cancer UK. I will arrive in Melbourne on the 3rd January and will imediately start with my ride training and acclimatisation. On the 9th January i and five others will start a momouth 1210 mile ride from Canberra to Sydney via the 'IndiPac' route and then from Sydney to Adelaide all in around 7 days, Once in Adelaide we shall attempt to follow the Tour DownUnder routes as best as possible helping to increase the mile count. On the 23rd January we will set off for Melbourne and hope to have enough time to get there before the 27th as i will be riding in the Cadel Evans sportive that also take on the F1 Circuit at Albert Park. My target is to beat my Mini Tour De France of 1619 miles that i completed in July 2017. I hope to hit 1700 miles but would love to leave Australia with 2000 miles under my belt. While in Melbourne and maybe Sydney also, i will be staying with friends free of charge, however out on the road and being part of a team we are staying at hotels and motels en-route with a shared Airbnb apartment in Adelaide. These accomodation costs i can not avoid and are making life a bit difficult for me. There may be other out of pocket expenses that im unable to avoid. This is where i need your help and generosity. By helping to fund me on this charity ride you will be easing the burden on my own pocket. Please remember we have never used any donated funds to Prostate Cancer UK to cover any out of pocket expenses, ride fees or accomodation costs. This all comes from my own pocket and has been classed as my own donation to Prostate Cancer UK. However as my big ride for the year was meant to have been in July, (before the organisers cancelled it), this replacemet event has come some 6 months earlier and my own funds are stretched as it is. This ride will not only benefit Prostate Cancer UK but also a number of other charities such as Challenge & Adventure, Isle of Wight Pride, The Isle of Wight Zoo and Layla's Trust. In return for your donation you will be helping me with raising funds and awareness for so many good cuases. I have set a target of £600.00 as this is the expected costs, however in the event funding exceeds this target or my documented expenses leave a balance this excess will be donated to charity. We have had a fundraising stand at many events around the Island over the past two years and we plan to continue this in 2018. Should you have a business we will be more than happy to advertise your business on our pre-printed 'Proud to be Supported by' banners that will be seen by thousands over the 2018 season. A suggested minimum donation of £50 will secure your business logo with a £100 donation giving your business logo prime placement. Donations over this amount will gain your own 'Sponsored By' banner along with leaflet and business card distribution. For more information you can contact me direct on [email redacted] A full expense account will be provided in February 2018 and any excess will be donated to charity.
