The Bee Book

Donation protected
At the end of 2016 well known Goodwood resident, Fred House, passed away just short of his 100th birthday -a celebration he was very much looking forward to.  His death significantly impacted the community as he was dearly loved and respected by everyone.

Fred achieved many things in his lifetime-one of these was his 93 year beekeeping career and this is how the community chose to remember him through the ‘Bee Literate’ project.

The project is a partnership between Goodwood Community Centre, Tasmanian Junior Beekeepers, Story Island Project and Beautiful Girls Honey to educate the next generation of Goodwood beekeepers about the importance of bees.

Through the project children have undertaken bee education workshops and facilitated writing and drawing activities to create 'The Bee Book' a fact book about bees, by children for children.

The book is now ready to be published.  As this is a proudly Tasmanian project, it will be published through Forty South Publishing using Tasmanian printers.  This is a fundraising project to protect bees in our communities.

**Update 20 May 2018 World Bee Day-We are offering co-sponsorship opportunities to people and organisations offering $250.00 or more towards publishing this book**

**Update 15 May 2018-People who donate $50 or more will receive a copy of the published book**
