Thao Quyen Truong's Funeral Fund

My name is Mai Nguyen and I was one of Quyen's closest friends. She has recently passed away from Spinocerebellar Ataxia, and it pains me to realise that her mother does not have enough money to give her a proper burial. Spinocerebellar Ataxia is an incurable disease that slowly degenerates the brain, and eventually causes the person to lose all mobility, ability to speak, and vision. During the later stages of her life she could only lay still and wait for her time to come. This disease was inherited from her father who died from the same disease, along with her brother. Her mother had to take care of all three of them by herself. She watched has her husband, son, and finally daughter all slip away from her, and there was nothing she could do. Quyen's mother is now still taking care of her ninety-eight years old mother while struggling to pay for the funeral funds. She is a kind-hearted and selfless human that lives for the sake of taking care of others. Quyen was also a very loving and sincere friend that was kind to everyone she met. I am trying in any way possible to help ease her mother's troubles. I do not want to have Quyen look back from wherever she is and see her mother suffering.
