Community Development in Yucatan

This summer a group of interns will be joining a nonprofit based in Yucatan, Mexico called Fundacion Cielo. They will be living in a rural Mayan community struggiling with extreme poverty. Because the organization is very new, we need funds in order to achieve the goals we have outlined for this summer.

Fundacion Cielo's mission is to establish a system of socioeconomic development that can revitalize the local economy, enhance skills and break the cycle of generational poverty in the Mayan communities. Specifically, in the coming months, we will be focusing on environmental conservancy efforts, education, preventative health, and fostering local entrepreneurship.

The money you donate will go towards our college mentorship program, school supplies for the young children, soccer gear, health supplies for the community, etc. Any funds raised that are not used this summer will go directly towards building a community center in the town center.

With your help, we hope to create lasting change in rural Yucatan. Any amount you donate goes a long way!
