Terry DiBlasi Cancer Fund

Terry Diblasi is a veteran Tram Mechanic at the St, Louis' Gateway Arch.  In 1965 he visited  the Arch for the first time as a 7th grader from the High Park neighborhood. Upon completion, his name was entered in the time capsule that rests in the final building piece along with many students of his day.   Little did he know then that he would spend the remainder of his professional career employed as a Tram Mechanic for the unique passenger transport system that takes millions of visitors up and down this iconic structure.  Prior to his employment at the Arch, Terry spent just over 10 years as an IBEW electrician.  For the past 28 years, Terry has been a fixture on the Arch grounds, greeting visitors, maintaining the tram, and mentoring new tram mechanics that serve this one of kind system.  Many locals know that the Arch has been undergoing a massive renovation for the past 3 years and is due to celebrate its grand opening during the annual 4th of July celebration in 2018.  Terry's Goal was to see the completion of this project and then retire.  That goal was cut short upon receiving the news that he has esophageal cancer.    A disease and treatment process he and his familiy know all to well as he lost his daughter, Saveria, who was diagnosed with cancer at just 18 months, and battled for 20 years until she was overcome by this disease at only 22 years old. 
     Please help us help Terry overcome his battle and allow him to join us for the return of Fair St. Louis on the Arch grounds and the Grand Re-opening of the museum complex this July.
