To launch CapeThink Foundation, a non-profit foundation funding projects that promote mental wellness and healing through creativity and innovation to improve quality of life for humans and the planet using strength-based, skill building models and practices.
CapeThink is focused on community members who identify as lonely, isolated, bored or struggling to heal. It will identify/fund projects that create safe spaces and opportunities, for those in need of purpose, hope and human connection, and that are accessible, affordable and reflect dignity and caring for all.
Often when loved ones are struggling with brain-based conditions such as depression, anxiety and addiction they feel isolated and lonely. There are few safe spaces that provide opportunities to connect with others that are free from alcohol and promote health and healing with purpose. This is an unmet need in our community and we feel personally passionate about addressing it.
Examples of CapeThink funded vision project ideas:
-Fix-it Cafes - workshops in problem solving
- Music and Dance therapy workshops
- Conversation Cafes - cross-cultural story telling
- Lost and Found Art - ex. making instruments from found objects
- Writing workshops - teaching songwriting and filmmaking
from real life stories
- "Bored" Game Night - for snackers and slackers
We are so grateful for our supportive and beloved family members and friends who have encouraged us and provided strength through their consistent loyalty and love. This is blessed bread which we wish to share with others to inspire hope and healing for those in need.
