Here is what I know so far: I was getting mammograms every 6 months due to family history and my own abnormalities found. My last one was May 25 which warranted a biopsy which was performed friday, June 8th. I was told the results on Monday, June 10th. I have breast cancer and we caught it early. It does not appear invasive. I was sent for bilateral MRI's on Wed, June 13 and met with the surgeon when I was told I could have a lumpectomy with radiation or mastectomy and NO radiation. I had already made up my mind but got the call Fri letting me know the spots by my chest wall appear to be cancerous too. So now my only option is to have the mastectomy. Since I had lost my biological mother to breast cancer at an early age, they are going to take both and have them reconstructed. At this point I am just waiting to meet with the plastic surgeon to coordinate all of this. I will be having surgery within the next 3 weeks now. Although I am scared out of my mind and trying to find silver linings where I can, my biggest stress is I only have enough paid time off to cover 1 week. I could be off up to 6 weeks! I am trying to stay positive but I'm screaming inside!  #fightlikeagirl Anything to help would be greatly appreciated!
