The Goal: The Pink Bakery, Inc - Tennessee's 1st Big 8 Allergen Free Dedicated Retail Bakery
My name is Nubian Simmons and I am the owner of The Pink Bakery, Inc. We make the most DELICIOUS desserts and baking mixes for people with food allergies to the big 8 Foods. You may be asking yourself, what are the Big 8 Foods? I’m so glad you asked! The big 8 Foods are: eggs, fin fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat. We use only organic, Non GMO, gluten free, fair trade, and responsibly sourced ingredients and they are naturally vegan. Made in a dedicated kitchen free of the Big 8 foods.
I started this company because I have allergies to milk and wheat and I felt that the desserts and baking mix options made available to me were subpar. They tasted like cardboard and had weird textures. I decided to make my own. I had no culinary experience, BUT I had the DESIRE to make something that would taste great and wouldn’t hurt me.
After 5 years of research, experimentation, prayer and tears, I now have the 3 baking mixes you will see below. Our Mama’s Favorite®️ Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cake Mix (and it really is her favorite), our Not So Plain Jane®️ Sugar Cookie and Pie Crust Mix and lastly our No Frownie Brownie®️ Mix. What makes our mixes truly unique is that all you have to add are oil and water. That’s it!
The Ask:
I am asking that you help us out in 1 of 2 ways. 1) Share this with as many people as you possibly can AND or 2) gift a minimum of $20 toward us opening the Tennessee’s 1st Big 8 Allergen Free Dedicated Retail Bakery.
For everyone that donates a minimum of $20, and if we reach our goal, you will receive a free individual baked good and we will put your name on our bakery walls. What a joy it will be to see everyone who contributed to make this bakery a reality!
Having a retail location will allow us to provide any of the 32 million Americans diagnosed with life threatening food allergies, an opportunity to come to a safe and dedicated bakery to purchase a baked treat. (This is so huge!!)
The Expense Breakdown:
Trying to open a specialty bakery is very, very expensive. Did I mention it was expensive lol? We need $500,000 but I am only asking you to help me raise $50,000. The money will be used in the following manner: $50,000 used as a down payment for the location and renovations. I have invested everything I have into The Pink Bakery and now I need your help to take it to the next level - will you help me?
We feel no one should be excluded from life’s celebratory moments because of a food allergy. I started all of this for me, but now I do everything for you.
