Teddy Surgery For Legg Perthes
Donation protected
We took our little Teddy (8 month old yorkie poo) in to the vet to be neutered today like the responsible pet owners that we are. Well we did not get good news, the other day we noticed him limping and holding his back leg up in pain, so we asked them to check it and take an x-ray while he was under. It turns out he has legg perthes, which is cause by a loss of blood supply to the head and neck of the femur, causing it to be painful and the bone to deteriorate. The only thing that can be done is a very expensive surgery, to remove the damanaged part of the bone, and a 8-10 week recover and rehab. The outcome of this surgery has a very high rate of recovery and normal function, and if left untreated it is extremely painful and could end up losing his leg. We are devestated for our little guy. I have never asked anyone for help, and I just do not know what to do at this point. So I am putting it out there every dollar would go to vet bill to help our little guy live a long and happy life.
