Ted Bergquist: Strike Out Cancer

Donation protected
Ted Bergquist is so much to so many:  (first and foremost) a truly good man and a great daddy, and also a wonderful son, dear friend, great coach, and umpire-extraordinaire!  Many of you know that Ted has been hospitalized for the past week after feeling poorly for months.  This weekend he received the shocking and truly breathtaking diagnosis of renal cancer.  This is compounded by an aggressive infection and the new diagnosis of diabetes as well.
We all know Ted to be tough and stubborn (and energetic and funny!) in everything, and this diagnosis is no exception! Unsurprisingly, he is ready for the fight!
But, as anyone who has gone through it, or knows someone who has gone through it, knows he's going to need our help!  Immediately.  His initial biggest concern is for Eric, who just turned 13.  Eric has such a great support system in his mom Antoinette,  Regina, his grandparents, and his buddies on the Power Alley and Lightning baseball teams, but dad's still worried!
Of course,  he is also very worried about finances.  Unfortunately, like many of us, when Ted isn't working, he doesn't get paid.  He already has mounting hospital and personal bills.  We really just want us, his friends and colleagues and beneficiaries of his time and friendship, to take the worries from him as much as possible!  We can do that in a few ways:
First, a donation of our time: for those who are believers, you can pray.  Prayer is a powerful tool in many regards.
Second, a donation of resources: we will post information on a meal train.  It's another thing not to have to think about!
Third, the reason you are reading this on a Go-Fund-Me page, we can donate money.  Every little bit helps.  The monetary needs are medical as well as living expenses with Ted not working.  The numbers get to be big and seem overwhelming, but an entire community of friends, family, and baseball nuts can make enough smaller donations to knock down the big needs.  We are starting the goal at $5,000 (truthfully, because we don't know where to start), but we anticipate this to go much higher as we see the bills start rolling in.
Please, help Ted in this battle!  He needs our support and love like at no other time.

FYI:  My name is Donna Felton, a friend of Ted's.  I am also Co-Founder and Secretary for Power Alley Baseball, where Ted is a great coach and mentor for one of our 13u teams, as well as an umpire trainer for our older kids.  It is my privilege to help Ted in any way I can.  If you have any questions or concerns about any of this, the best way to reach me is at [email redacted] .  I will update this as I can and as seems appropriate (with Ted's approval).  You may also go to our Power Alley Facebook page for now for information on the meal train or other updates (https://www.facebook.com/PowerAlleyBaseball/)

All money raised is being donated directly into Ted's personal account.  Neither Power Alley nor I receive any funds!
