Teaching with Technology

Donation protected
Hey there!  Thanks for taking the time to consider donating to this cause!

Let me tell you what I am trying to accomplish and why.  I would like to have a small stash of technology that belongs to me.  I am intentionally not running this through different sites that fund teachers, because I want these tools to be as versatile as possible.  I want these pieces of tech to go where I go in the many aspects of my career.

Okay...so get to it, right?

I am a Title I teacher, which means I work with multiple ages of students from K-6.  My day is fast paced and takes sharp turns quite often.  While that makes for a very challenging, and honestly, fun day of teaching, I need tools that are at the ready at all times, for all kinds of kids.

But wait...there's more!

In addition to my regular teaching, I tutor.  This also varies in age groups, and often has me travel to the family's house to work with a student.  Having personal iPads to take with me on tutoring trips would be awesome.  It would really bring those sessions to a new level.

And just when you thought you had read enough...

Finally, another part of my career includes running teacher workshops.  This basically boils down to a teacher teaching teachers, and I would truly love to be able to take iPads and laptops to these sessions to demonstrate the different types of technology that are available for classrooms!

I would like to purchase Apple products.  I have used Apple in the past, and find the devices to be universally easy to understand, especially in the age of iPhones, they stand up to student use, and are worth the money.

Here is my thinking financially.  I am asking for $5,000.  I would like to purchase two MacBooks.  About MacBook That takes us to $2,600.  Then, I would like to get one iPad Pro.  About iPad Pro This is the device that I picture myself using the most.  I can download apps to help track the data for students, create presentations, and have what I need with me at all times for all situations.  This brings the total up to $3,700.  Next, I would like to have three iPads for stations or individual use.  About iPad Air  These bring the bill to $4,900.  The last $100, to make it an even $5,000 would be for things like cases, cords, screen protectors, etc.

You can see that $5,000 can go pretty quicky.  That said, I am aware that I am looking at latest models of things.  I am more than willing to be thrifty with the donations that I get.  I just want to be sure that I am getting something that will not be phased out in a year or two if I need to replace/repair anything.

I am extremely passionate about what I do, and in the modern age, being able to access technology is critical.  I really appreciate you taking the time to read this.  While you can barely get a glimpse of what this would mean to me, I hope that you feel confident that your donation would be put to good use.

Thank you!!!
