Support Team Salone Project
We are raising funds to support the Sierra Leone athlete who is committed to compete for the countrty at the highest level on the global stage and cater to the development of grassroots sports initiative within Sierra leone.
The funds raised will be used to provide stipend and logistical support for our national athlete based on a criteria of qualifications that wil spur each athlete aspiring to be supported to raise their standards to quyalify for the necessary support pending the amount of funds raised.
We have a short term goal to provide supplmental support for our national athletics team going to the African Athletics Championships in Durban South Africa in Late June 2016 and the Rio Olympic Games in August 2016.
After years of war in the late 1990's and the early 2000's and more recently the devastation of the Ebola Outreak in Sierra Leone not only were lives lost but the national economy was almost brought to a standstill and in the midst of this unfortunate situation many rose to the challenge to help rebuild the country and restore its image. The Sierra Leone Diaspora Sports Foundation is one of those initiatives that came out of these set of unfortunate circumstances which along with several young athletes in the USA and UK who instead of going the other way reached and stepped out to lend a hand to rebuild the country.
So supporting these athletes is not only an imperative for every Sierra Leonean but a national duty to reach out and lend a hand to allow them to reach their goal of uplifting Sierra Leone's name up internationally.
We want to thank all of you who will donate to this noble cause. For anyone donating up to $50 dollars we will send you an authentic Certficate of Support from Team Salone and for those donating $100 or more we will send a Team Salone T-Shirt plus the certificate of support to you.
