Jalisa Barnes Recovery Fund

Jalisa is a intelligent, sweet, athletic, kind, a wonderful sister and daughter who's blossomed into a beautiful 21 year old young lady. Jalisa has always been blessed with excelling in everything life has presented to her: 2009 & 2010 All state, All county, All conference, & New York State Volleyball player of the year. She was on the honor roll throughout her high school years, played the clarinet, and she graduated from East Rockaway High school early after signing with the University of Pittsburgh Volleyball team in 2010. On May 13^th, 2013 she tragically encountered a rare but most severe blood infection Group A Streptococcus resulting in necrotizing Fasciitis and Streptococcal Septic Shock Syndrome. She has lost both legs, her right thumb and will lose part of her left thumb with other fingertips in question, she has minimal too no use of her hands or arms. Jalisa's life has changed forever. She remains in Trauma ICU, she's strong, a fighter, and has "WOWED" the surgeons and all of us with her progress. Jalisa has had over 20 surgeries thus far with more to come but by the grace of God, she's alive. Any donations to help Jalisa through this will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go towards Jalisa's Hospital, Medical care and Recovery expenses that she needs to regain as much of her life back as possible. Thank you for taking the time to read her story.
