Celina came into this world on a roller coaster and hasn't quite gotten off of it yet... born at 25 wk 3 days 1 lb 11oz and 12 inches long . She was very sick when she was born, her lungs underdeveloped and being so small and classified as a micropreemie. The doctors tried multiple times to wean her off the ventilator and we're unsuccessful. After performing a bronchoscopy they determined that she has severe tracheomalasia . (Her windpipe collapses completely when she breathes) She had surgery for a tracheostomy and has been slowly gettin better and beginning to wean her off the ventilator. It will be a slow process. She has been in the NICU 4+ months.... 134 days to be exact. Medical care is not cheap and surprisingly we have already exceeded 2 million dollars in charges to our insurance. To make matters worse Celina'still mommy Nicole was terminated from her job shortly after returning to work because she couldn't tell them how long she would be gone. Medical bills piling up and Having 2 other kids, a household and traveling back and forth to Oakland everyday on one income has become trying for the family.
