Team Sweeney #adamwillbegreatagain

Our brother Adam Sweeney was diagnosed 10 years ago with an autoimmune disease called Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. He endured every single one of the side affects and almost died on 2 different occasions. After being on the transplant list for 2 years, he was finally diagnosed with the last stage being liver cancer.  Hope was almost lost, until 38 hours later, he received a call that informed him there was an anonymous donor and his surgery would be April 9,2018. Amazing!!!!
Adam underwent the much needed liver transplant at 11 am on Monday. April 9 with the help of a healthy piece of liver from our wonderful anonymous donor as well as a deceased donor for Arteries and portal veins.
11.5 hours later. Adam was released from the liver transplant .
Within hours  after this transplant, Adam’s colour started changing from
jaundiced to pink tones. Day after surgery liver function tests coming back in normal Range, itching gone , cold body warming up, Hepatic encephalopathy has disappeared. Adams new liver is working. He was a trooper through this surgery.  He refused pain meds as they made him nauseous, but he also has been in pain for so many years. He dealt with it like a champ!!
8 days after surgery he was released. Adam is a tough fighter. So happy to have this new wonderful lease on life where he is going to be able to see his children grow up!! That wasn’t an option 3 weeks ago.
Now that his surgery is done, Adam will need some help while he goes on the next step of recovery. He doesn’t have benefits through his job to sustain him being off for the time
he needs to properly recover.   As well as to help with all the expensive  medications that he will need until he can be healthy enough to get back to work!!!!

Please if you can, donate to Adam’s fund. Just to help out until he’s back on his feet.  Literally. All of the wonderful people that followed team Sweeney helped to find the wonderful angel that gave a piece of their Liver and Saved his life.
