Krista has recently taken steps towards rebuilding her life, through recovery from alcohol addiction. Voluntarily leaving behind a 10-12 year life & career in California, Krista reached out to family, friends & strangers, to move into a recovery house in Texas.
One major financial burden brought on by this transition into rehabilitation, was breaking a lease agreement in California (4-5 months in) resulting in being financially responsible for rent until the unit is filled (currently still vacant). Facing collections / bankruptcy, we are reaching out in hopes of lifting this burden, giving her the best shot at her new life & full focus on her recovery journey.
Krista has also taken on a large financial burden in getting from California to the recovery house; moving costs, monthly bills, necessities and more. She recently found an affordable used vehicle, that can be used for transportation to work & meetings.
The first 30 days in recovery are structured for complete focus on self, recovering & healing - giving up her phone, social media while in recovery & not having a job within that first month (to focus on rehabilitation). She is extremely excited, having just recently celebrated her first 30 days of sobriety & recovery, to begin a new job as a housekeeper at a local hotel. We hope to help reduce financial burdens of doctors appointments, insurance, recovery needs and literature, transportation, and basic necessities to start her new life.
We know that there are many people in need, and many sharing the struggles of addiction & recovery. We could not be prouder of our girl (someone who has given so much help and joy to those who know her) and supportive of her march toward recovery; last week we were proud to support her in her first milestone in recovery - 30 days in sobriety, and are excited for the next! Thank you for your time, love, prayers & support.

What does recovery look like?
Krista is currently living in a recovery house with 7 other women, and an emotional support pup. Each day consists of a morning meditation (daily devotionals, recovery literature readings, sharing gratitude & personal stories, and a weekly personal affirmation), daily recovery meetings, support from many (including a big “sister” in the house, and a sobriety sponsor walking through steps to recovery with her), bible studies, 3x/week workout and 17 hours of community service each week.

45 days of sobriety & counting!
K-girl celebrated her first full week of her new job on Friday. Unfortunately, she ended up in the emergency room Saturday morning with a RSI (repetitive stress injury); a hairline fracture of the metatarsal. She’s spending a few days healing in a post-op walking boot, on crutches, and back to work on Wednesday. She’s catching up on rest, still making it to meetings (45+ meetings in 45 days!) & spending a lot of time in recovery literature, working on recovery daily with her sponsor / big sister & giving back by serving others.
Thank you so much to those following her journey, donating to her fundraiser, writing letters, sharing this fundraiser out on social, praying for her recovery & all your support & love!
