Teacher Trainer for Loving Hearts

Donation protected

With your help, we were able to raise 1000 to fund travel costs for Sameh Marzouki to go to Uganda to train teachers at the Loving Hearts Primary School.  Thank you so much for your support.  ❤️

The school still needs your help. Although we have now raised the limit to allow us to send Sameh, we would like her to be able to make a real difference once she arrives. A wonderfully creative, DELTA qualified Teacher Trainer, she plans to help teachers create their own materials, improve classroom conditions and help the school create an enjoyable and healthy learning environment.

When Andreas  went to Sameh's workshop at the Africa TESOL Conference in Dakar, she wowed everyone with hundreds of ideas for improving the learning environment, and showed them how to make a data projector using our phones and a shoebox!!! Sameh has plenty of experience delivering free workshops and voluntary work in underserved areas in Africa and Asia, and is a member of Africa TESOL, FLLT Bangkok, Tunisia TESOL, Tunisia TATE, TESOL Arabia and MATE Morocco. She has been practicing TEYL and TEFL for seventeen years andin 2009  won an Educational prize from the Omani Minisitry of Education. When Andreas told Sameh about Loving Hearts Primary School, she offered to train the teachers for free!

This is the Loving Hearts Primary School on the shore of Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda. It is a sponsorship funded school for orphans and needy children. The school strives to create opportunities for disadvantaged children through a rounded educational curriculum, empowering them to break out of the cycle of poverty. The teachers, however, are extremely restricted, with ever increasing class sizes and are in desperate need of training and support to be able to carry on their work.

Please help us to help them.  ❤️

Andreas Grundtvig, Wilton Mills, Peter Rutherford, Sue Annan - we are Teachers for Schools! An areligious and apolitical group of ELT (English Language Teaching) teachers, who have agreed to work together to see how we can support needy schools in developing nations.  With a ‘little things make big differences’ ethos, we began by visiting schools, initially in Uganda and the Gambia (together with and Alhagie Fofana) to establish a working relationship on a grassroots level.
