Teacher of Student In Dire Need

I have never done this, although as a teacher I have been aware of students in need in the past, but I have created this GoFundMe request because the need is dire and the story truly saddens me.
I currently have a student whose family is a victim of domestic violence from the father. He and his mother have learned to stand up for themselves and have had a restraining order issued against the father, but there are also two young siblings involved. They are immigrants and the mother earns some income catering her ethnic food, but it is difficult for her to earn enough on her own. She and the three kids were to be evicted last week and made homeless, but some officials stepped in and got the eviction to be delayed a week, just until May 6th.
This GoFundMe page has a picture of me because I need to keep the information anonymous. The father's family has been sending death threats to the mother and my student out of retribution and we do not know what they are capable of.
Please, if you know me, you know that I am not flippantly asking for funds. This family is in dire need of some financial help to find some lower cost housing and to get a good start to make a life for themselves apart from the abusive father. Whatever little you can give will help. I put an arbitrary amount of $1000 as a goal to cover one month's rental expenses and food, but I know they could always use more.

UPDATE: The family has gotten some assistance from victim's organizations, so they have some help for 1 to 2 months (so they are not in danger of being homeless immediately, but they do need help to extend the time they have to really get on their feet.)
