With mandates to close all "non-essential" business due to COVID-19 in the Bay Area, many small businesses such as ours are being forced to close. As cooks, service people, and folks who love what we do, we are disappointed and sad that we can not continue to serve you the beautiful, fresh food with love and grace, that you've come to enjoy and to know.
We are reaching out to all of you in a call to help our staff who will be unemployed for the foreseeable future. Many workers in our industry are not able to receive benefits for various reasons, and even when they are, it is not enough to cover costs of living in the Bay Area.
We, as a business, are doing all we can to provide support, resources, food, and simple human connection as we are all in this together. Our staff are resilient, hardworking and wonderful people who eagerly want to return to their jobs.
In the meantime, we are also reaching out to local and state officials demanding help and support for small businesses and for their employees.
In that, we are asking you, our community, to help the employees of The Cook and Her Farmer sustain themselves during this unprecedented time.
