Michelle’s Wish

As many of you know, my big sister (aka my hero!) is currently battling Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. In September 2018 shortly after her diagnosis our family attended a meeting at the Cowichan Valley Hospice to talk about the future, what to expect and resources available to us as we embarked on this journey as a family in support of Michelle.

We learned that while we had access to resources, no option for end of life resident care was available yet in the area.  Michelle has expressed a strong desire for this to one day be an option for her when we reach that point.  I must add here my big sister is a fighter and is doing all she can to kick cancers ASS!!!!!

Regardless if this is a choice Michelle needs one day, many wonderful people who have crossed our paths in the last 7 months in the chemo clinic in Duncan will unfortunately be faced with this need and we want to help Michelle’s Wish come true by making the Cowichan Hospice House
 a reality. 

A little more about my big sister! Michelle is the oldest of 3...yes we have another one in between us and the 3 of us tell our parents that ‘The Greatest gift they ever gave us was eachother’ and that’s the truth!  Michelle is the proud mom of 2 amazing sons, 18 and 16 and spent the last 18 years living in Ladysmith as it was a wonderful community to bring the boys up in.
