TaylorMade: Help for Addiction

To anyone who has been graced with the gifts of sobriety from addiction, loved a friend or family member with an addiction or anyone who understands the pain of addiction, we need your help!

The mission of TaylorMade Retreat is to provide hope for the hopeless and bring light into a dark disease of isolation and desperation.   Our program is TaylorMade for those who have tried treatment or sober living but need a deep dive into the 12 steps as a design for living in a sober, loving, and supportive environment. 

Experience Serenity and Peace

TaylorMade Retreat is housed in a 1933 mansion on SW Walker Rd. in Beaverton, Oregon. This 6,500 square foot “Castle” was built by the ex-boxer and bootlegger Phil Polsky. The home was used to host lavish parties, boxing matches, and wild affairs of various sorts during prohibition. The irony is not lost on those of us committed to recovery that this site started out as a bit of a debaucherous abode. The rich history and quiet setting make TaylorMade Retreat the perfect place to implement a spiritual life or have one revived. Beginning in 2018 the residents of TaylorMade Retreat will be working towards applying the 12 steps as a design for living; thus empowering them to find a spiritual solution to their substance abuse disorders. Although secluded and insulated from the outside world, TaylorMade Retreat is a mere 10 minutes from downtown Portland and an hour’s drive from the Oregon Coast, Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge where our housemates will be introduced to a myriad of outdoor activities that include hiking, snowboarding, bicycling, and more.

A Complete Psychic Change

TaylorMade Retreat will walk its residents through a design for living that really works. Residents will be introduced to a unique opportunity to assimilate into the local 12 step community on a level rarely experienced, giving the opportunity to transform their lives. TaylorMade Retreat is committed to providing a loving and supportive living space for those residents intent on implementing the spiritual design for living as outlined in the 12 steps of recovery. Our staff and volunteers are all front row members of the 12 step community and their goal is to facilitate a complete psychic change in those struggling with addiction.

Our mission to to provide a loving supportive environment that allow residents of the Retreat to foster a spiritual solution to their substance abuse and offer support to both the sufferer and their families.  We are not a treatment center, we are not detox, we simply offer unfettered access to a spiritual solution and a retreat from the clamors of life so sufferers can find a full emersion into the process.

This non-profit retreat is just taking off and needs a great deal of support in the following ways:

Create more living space and support faculties to increase the capacity so we can touch more lives.  

We would like to create meditation paths along messenger creek  where residents can walk and absorb the message

Most importantly, since we do not take insurance and are not government funded we need your support to fund scholarship for men who cannot afford this life saving opportunity.


In Memory of Taylor Hanes

This program is TaylorMade for the those who are suffering from our horrible disease and the name comes from a man who was legendary in the Seattle / Maple Valley area in the 80’s and 90’s and in Wenatchee after that – Taylor Hanes.



TaylorMade Retreat is a supportive, educational recovery program in loving family style environment and is not a substitute for psychotherapy, Medical or clinical treatment.

TaylorMade Retreat is a 50c13 and all donations are tax deductible will go directly to support the program and its clients, no administration fees no third-party participation, your donation will go directly to supporting those suffering from substance abuse disorder and their families.
