Taylor-jays story

Hi I am Rebecca grey I am taylor-jays beneficiary and Taylor's mother's partner I will be withdrawing the funds raised for taylor-jay and personally presenting the cash to Taylor and his mum ready for the first part of there adventure to Nottingham.

Hi, my name is taylor-jay and i am 9 years old. I am looking to raise money for a prosthetic eye as when i was 3 years old; i had a freak accident which blinded me in one eye.

Luckily, i got to keep my eye, even though i couldn't see out it thanks to the hard work of the NHS. However, 6 years later i was involved in another accident when me and my friends were playing with our nerf guns. A stray projectile hit me in the same eye that i was already blinded in, which then filled up with blood and caused a build up of pressure in my eye.  Even though im very brave, it was hurting so much that i had to go the hospital to see if i could get some help.

After many trips to the hospital where i was given treatment to reduce the pressure in my eye, it just  kept filling back up with pressure. We were referred to an eye specialist who was concerned about my good eye and the sight that i have in it. He told me that there was a condition that would look for protein in my good eye and start to eat away at my good eye be a us it wouldn't find protein in my bad eye.

I was worried because that would mean i would end up without sight in both my eyes leave me completely blind. Me and my mother had to make The hard desicion there and then to remove  the eye that i was having so many problems with the very next day.

We had no time to waste because i faced the horrible Threat of completely losing my sight. Since then I have had my eye removed and been fitted with a  tempory prosthetic eye . it was a really good match and you could hardly tell it was a prosthetic eye. Since i had it, the swelling around has gone down and it doesn't fit me properly anymore.

After this, i was given a permanent bespoke prosthetic eye. Unfortunately, its doesnt look as good as my tempory one and i would like to raise enough money to go and see a private ocular prothesis specialist so i can get a more realistic eye made for me.

In order to do this, i need to raise around £2500 so i can travel from Swansea to Nottingham and stay for three consecutive days while i see the consultant. The fee for the consultant is £120 and it's another £1750 for them to make me my new eye. I would also need the rest of the money for travel and accommodation for the 3 days.

Any donations, no matter how big or small, will go towards me getting my perfect eye and would change the way i look and feel greatly for the rest of my life. Thank you for taken the time to read my story.

Taylor-jay.
