Fundraiser for Homeless Shelters in Seattle, WA

Hi,
We are trying to help combat the Homelessness and Education crisis in Seattle. Homelessness is a growing problem in Seattle, and so we are creating this go-fund-me campaign to raise money for Mary's Place (as well as various other shelters). Mary's Place is an organization that helps homeless families, women and children. They do this by giving meals and shelter.
There are over 12,000 homeless people just in Seattle as of 2019. Barely any of them, including adults, have or will have a decent education. 18% identify as LGBTQ+, and 58% of those people have become homeless or still experience domestic abuse. Job loss, mental health, and addiction are some of the leading causes for homelessness here. These numbers increase each day, and that is the sad truth.
As a more detailed answer, we are doing this fundraiser to both raise awareness of poverty here and around the world. For the WAGIN (Washington Global Issues Network) conference, we must have a workshop shown about a global issue that affects our community. We chose poverty, specifically homelessness, and we decided a fundraiser that donates to various shelters would be the best plan. We know that shelters can be donated to directly, but it's harder to raise awareness if it's a single person donating to one shelter. If we can raise our goal of $10000 and give it to various shelters all around Seattle as well as making flyers, we will be helping more than just one shelter, though our main focus is Mary's Place.
