Tatiana Ryumina's piano recordings

Donation protected
The purpose of this fundraising campaign is to access and digitise the archived recordings of Russian pianist Tatiana Ryumina. This is being done together with her sister Marina, and Marina's husband Mikhail.

Within the Russian archives of Gosteleradiofond, there exists just under 300 minutes of Tatiana's recordings, most of which have not been heard. We have details of most of the recordings -- some are from the 1974 Tchaikovsky Competition, some are studio recordings from the early 1980s, and a number are from recitals between 1970 - 1981. I think the most interesting ones are from two recitals -- a 64 minute recital in the Small Hall of the Moscow Conservatory in 1973, and a 75 minute recital in the Gnessin Institute in 1981.

I am asking for help to acquire these because of the exorbitant amount of money required to digitise the tapes. Gosteleradiofond charges 3,000 rubles per minute. To acquire both recitals mentioned above, the sum would be about 6,400 euros. All money donated to this campaign will be used solely to get Tatiana's recordings for her family, which will then be shared with those who donated -- and hopefully later with everyone. I will be donating to this as well. I have never run a funding campaign before, but then frankly only a few pianists have affected me quite as much as she has. I hope that with the help of those who admire her, and those who love the piano, we'll be able to celebrate a very special pianist who deserves to be heard and known.

For those unfamiliar with her playing, please hear the following recordings from my Youtube channel (ADGO):

Tatiana Ryumina was born in January 1950. Her mother was a pianist and teacher (who taught Alla Pugacheva) and her sister Marina is also a pianist. From 1957 she studied with Tamara Bobovich at the Central Music School in Moscow. She graduated from Yakov Flier's class at the Moscow Conservatory in 1973. Her public success began when she won second prize at the 1969 Schumann Competition in Zwickau. In 1974 she made it to the finals of the Tchaikovsky Competition, from which Melodiya released a LP of her playing which contains Schumann's Kreisleriana -- a recording that is starting to become legendary.  Unfortunately due to injury Tatiana was forced to stop playing in the early 1980s. She passed away in September 2013.

Below are some photos of her.
