T'Asia Smalls has been academically and artistically gifted since she began school. Her passion for academic excellence displayed as she achieved academic success in every area of study ranging from reading and writing to singing and playing musical instruments. Named the top reader in her school, both spelling bee winner and Spelling Bee Runner up in 1st, 5th, & 8th grades at her school, a Junior and Senior Beta Club Member, a South Carolina Junior Scholar, Horry Soil and Water Essay Winner for her school and 3rd place winner for the county, 2nd place National History Day Project Regional Winner, and an Honor Student her entire time enrolled in school are a few of her accomplishments.

She is currently a student at the Scholar's Academy at Coastal Carolina University. In order to be able to attend the Scholar's Academy, she had to be in the top 5 percentile in  the County and pass the interview process. While attending the Scholar's Academy at CCU, she will earn her bachelor's degree, majoring in pre-law.  Based on her high acheivements, she has been selected to attend Envision Intensive Law & Trial at Stanford Law School in Stanford, California. Her passion for law began when she did an english paper on George Stinney, an African American who was sent to the electric chair for supposedly killing 2 white girls. She was so passionate about Mr. Stinney's story that she did her National History Day project on his case. Her love and passion for law and bringing awareness to racial inequality and injustice in our criminal justice system is the reason why she is majoring in pre-law at Coastal Carolina University. She is also passionate about solving unsolved murder cases as well as rape cases that have gone cold. She has to raise at least $7,000 to cover all expenses to be able to attend Stanford Law School in July. This is where I need the help of the community and businesses so that she can get a chance to attend one of the top law schools in the US. Given this opportunity, she will be able to enhance the academic skills she already possess and discover how to step forward as a leader throughout her education and beyond.
