TAROT ALDO

Donation protected
Okay Everyone!

I've spent over a year creating a series of 78 hand drawn images for my thesis project at Parsons: The New School for Design; culminating in the completion of an original deck of tarot cards. I started reading Tarot cards when I was 9 years old, and promised myself I wouldn't buy another deck until I made one myself; so here we are!!!  Each card teaches a different lesson or moral. I have identified the person in my life who has taught me or embodies these lessons and drawn them into the context of that particular card. So you can trust that the characters you see in this deck have lived and breathed the meanings of their card.

Coming to the end of this long journey, it is time for me to take each of these separate works and finally bring them together as a complete set. In order to have the final product shipped to me with the gold-stamped packaging included, the printing service I am using requires me to make a bulk order of 100 decks or more. As I cannot afford such a large order,  (and wouldn't need all 100 decks!)  my goal here is to get 100 people to buy a deck for the donation price of $65 or more, so that I may finally see this project completed while also being able to share this product with 99 other people!

Any decks sold after these initial 100, will not include the gold-stamped boxes and the pricing might be higher, so these one's are super special! You can check out all the different images, and more about the project at my website niccopalazzi.com

After using these funds to have the decks printed and shipped to you, I will be using the remaining profit to go towards a downpayment for an apartment to get me back working in the city!

Thank you for all your help!

PROCESS:
After assigning a person in my life to each of these cards based on their personality, zodiac sign, or individual experiences, I drew out the initial image in ballpoint pen.
Once the base drawing is finalized, I would then go in spraying specific areas of the drawing with any alcohol based spray. (Most often hairsrpay or sun tan lotion).
After scanning these images I would then touch them up in photoshop, adding gold leaf elements and scans of found flowers.
The finalized image would then be placed under a frame. With the help of a friend from school, Ryan Florez, I lasercut a frame for each suit within the deck. After scanning these laser-cut frames I would then place the frame-layer on top of the finalized image for each card !
Over a year and 78 drawings late, we have the final product!
