Taralyn's Gender Transition

Heya there. I'm Taralyn, the person you're hopefully either choosing to help out, or at least spread the word so others can do the same. This fundraiser is to help me to cover costs for expenses for the various procedures and paperwork updates I will need in order to complete my transition from being legally male to legally and physically female.

Originally this fundraiser was to get the funds together for laser hair removal, and I am pleased to say, I've been getting laser now for a few months, and it's done wonders so far. Thanks to those who helped me get there.

Now, it's on to the next step!

This fundraiser is to get money together for an orchiectomy. (To get graphic and be specific, surgery to remove the testicles.) This will virtually eliminate my body's ability to produce testosterone and allow me to dial back to smaller, safer, post-operative hormone doses, as well as quit taking anti-androgen pills.  I have been transitioning to female for nearly 15 years now and have been on high doses of HRT (hormone replacement therapy; estrogen) and anti-androgens (spironolactone) all that time.

Every day without the orchi is another day I am at risk from the very high doses of hormones I have to take to keep my levels in a proper range.

I'm ballparking about $3000 will be needed for this. I have no way to raise these funds on my own right now. My disability benefits are in jeopardy (they've been taken away but I'm appealing), and even if they were stable, $750 a month barely pays for anything once you factor in rent, bills, medication, transportation, food, and other necessities. I am unable to work due to my ongoing dysphoria, my other mental health issues, and mobility that has recently started to decline. (I now have to use a wheelchair for longer trips lsuch as going through a grocery store.) All of my legal documentation still has me as male, and under my dead name (which I have not yet managed to afford the help required to get changed.)

Every donation will help me to get back on my feet. If I can just get my documentation updated (sadly, full GRS will be required to fix all of it), I will have less obstacles in my path. Coping with physical and mental health problems is taxing, but doable. Dysphoria added to the mix is too much. Anything leftover/excess will go towards working on getting my legal documentation updated to my preferred name and gender, and getting the ball rolling on GRS (genital reconstruction surgery, aka a "sex change.") Anything that anyone reading this can spare is very, VERY appreciated. I can't do this on my own anymore and every little bit will help.
