The Tara and Ron Rowe Benefit

It all started in late November 2012 while on a business trip in Upper Michigan. Ron was accidently hit by a motorist as he crossed the highway. Ron was severely injured, nearly dying. He spent months in recovery, and continues to suffer from the injuries of that accident, although he would never tell you so. He has bigger worries.
In June 2013, Tara developed sores on her left foot that would not heal, accompanied by severe pain, and was finally diagnosed with Peripheral Artery Disease. PAD restricts the blood flow in the arteries, especially to the extremities. Tara’s toes started turning black, leading to her first operation in August 2013, the removal of her left leg just under the knee. Although very difficult for both of them, Tara and Ron persevered through it and took the necessary steps to heal her wound, despite frequent infections caused by lack of blood flow. After months of healing, Tara eventually received a prosthetic leg (which no longer fits); she has been hospitalized many times since, trying to regulate the pain and have the arteries in her legs ballooned, hoping to keep enough blood flow. Adding insult to injury, in April 2014, while on his way home from visiting Tara in a Milwaukee hospital, Ron lost control of his car on black ice, hitting the semi-trailer in front of him. The ice caused a 35-car pileup on Hwy 41. Ron fortunately walked away from another serious accident with very little injury, thank God, but a totaled car.
When it seemed things might finally turn around for Tara and Ron, Tara started having problems with the blood flow in her right leg, causing the removal of her toes. It was hoped that would be all that was needed. But in late December 2015, that loss of blood flow in the right leg led to her second amputation. Tara went home in January to begin healing again, but an infection became so severe that Tara needed hyper-barrack treatments to speed up the healing process. Tara suffered a major stroke after one of her treatments, leading to more hospitalization and a long stay at Harbor Haven nursing home. Today, Tara is finally home. God has indeed been watching over her.
Needless to say, all this has been physically, emotionally and financially devastating for the Rowe’s. There are necessary things Tara needs now just to move about her home. Living in a quad-level house, three stair lifts needed to be installed (at a cost of $5,000, not covered by any insurance or source). Wheelchairs, home health devices, prosthetics, a bathroom remodel are all necessary now. Neither Ron nor Tara will be employed any longer; more financial concerns.
As we can all see, Ron and Tara have endured more than most of us could ever deal with. After years of trying to handle these problems privately, Ron and Tara have consented to a fundraiser to support them – financially and emotionally. Let’s join together – as a community - and support Tara and Ron!

Help us reach our goal by the benefit on Sunday, October 2nd.  Hope you can join us at Ledgeview Lanes in Fond du Lac from 3-7pm!!!
