Everyone knows someone like Tara
Tara is that person who lights up the room with her smile and laughter.
She would reach out to help a friend, a co-worker or even a stranger. She always had kind words to say and endless time to listen to others who needed someone to talk to. Her family and her friends meant everything to her.
Tara was a friend, a sister, a daughter, a wife and a mother to her 21 month old son who will never know his mother and what an amazing loving person she was.
Tara was one of a kind.
On Friday May 31, the unspeakable happened. Tara was shot and killed while at work at her Virginia Beach Public Works Engineering office by a co-worker. Many of her colleagues were also killed or injured by this same person. We may never know why this happened.
We will never forget the special and unique person Tara was to all of us who knew and loved her.
