Hualien Earthquake Relief Fundraise

A week has passed since a 6.4 magnitude quake shook the city of Hualien with aftershocks rocking Taiwan's Eastern Coast as rescue workers continued their search for missing persons trapped inside a teetering multi-story building for more than 36 hours after the deadly earthquake. So far, the number of casualties were recorded at 16 deaths, 285 injured and one still missing.
In addition to the damaged bridges and buckled roads, hundreds of Hualien residents' homes were destroyed with an estimated 35,000 residents were still without water.
As leaders of the Taiwanese community, TAP-OC, TAP-SEA and TAP-ATL have decided to initiate a community fundraising drive through GoFundMe, inviting all members to share this fundraiser and raise donations for this cause. The money raised will be donated directly to the Hualien County Government Social Assistance Fund.
All efforts and contributions are greatly appreciated in our mission to remind those affected in Taiwan that our thoughts and prayers are with them, no matter the distance.
