Habitat for Humanity Needs You

Donation protected
Kentucky Habitat for Humanity has been able to help Tamara and her son get resettled after a her husband was murdered in their home in Union County, Kentucky in Morganfield, Kentucky. By sharing her story, we hope to raise funds to support the work Union County Habitat is doing for Tamara and her son. The funds we hope to raise will help her to have basic necessities for her home covered including construction materials and items like sub-contractors, plumbing, electrical and flooring.

If her story moves you, we hope you will support Habitat in order to directly affect Tamara's life going forward.

Read Tamara's story in her own words....

"As I tell you my story, it is very difficult to do because I would have never in a million years thought something like this would end up being a chapter in my life. I have worked so hard to find my meaning in life and to build a family with which I can share all of my desired dreams and goals. To have all you have worked hard for ripped apart, crushed, and destroyed causes a great deal of unexplainable pain that will never go away.

My name is Tamara. I am 29 years old and I have a 9-year-old son. On January 20th a very traumatic evil event changed our lives forever. My husband of 10 years, the man I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with, the man of two precious boys whom meant the world to him was murdered in our home. The life I once knew has been taken from me and shattered into a million little pieces. Even though I face a horrific amount of brokenness in my life, I must pick up the pieces and rebuild a life for my son and me.

In Isaiah 66:9, God said "I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born." As I grieve I also have to rebuild my foundation one brick at a time. I thakn God for my community, friends and family during this difficult time in my life. I I thank God for Habitat for Humanity. Becase of Habitat my son and I have the opportunity to have a fresh start, and a new beginning to continue our lives in a new home. For that, I am and will be forever grateful."
