THE WHAT -
We are a group of UCLA graduates and young artists creating a short film called Tall In Another Dimension! - written and directed by Hunter Milano and starring Wes Dunlap, Jake Dvorsky, Deja Fields, Amber Li, Kyra Morling, and Maxwell Peterson. This passion project of ours intends to subvert the idea of the “college party flick” in order to paint an accurate, explicit and chaotic portrait of a dangerously intimate group of friends struggling to keep their lives together at a tiny apartment party where all they have is a bottle of tequila, a tub of glitter and a whole lot of complicated feelings.
We aim to challenge the misrepresentation of youth we have often seen portrayed in media: Whereas most films about college are broad comedies populated by caricatures, our film is a nuanced human drama that explores identity issues of women of color, queer relationships and struggles with mental health.
THE WHY -
The first iteration of this story was in the form of a play that we put up at UCLA, which sold out its entire run and inspired so many strong, emotional and empathetic responses that we decided we have to keep it going!
We want this story to reach as many people as possible, and the medium of film is the most accessible way to do that. We plan on submitting this film to festivals such as Sundance, TIFF and SXSW, as well as putting it online afterwards so it can fully take off with a wide audience.
We view this personal, vital project as an opportunity to break into the entertainment industry on our own terms through creating stories ourselves from the ground up, and to see it through would be an absolute dream.
THE ASK -
In order to pull this off with our young, diverse cast and filmmakers, we need YOU!
We have an incredibly talented Director of Photography on board named Ian Hussey ( Ian Hussey ), so we need funding for high end camera equipment rentals.
In addition, we have the brilliant sound team of Ferdinand Almavez and Matt Brodnick ( BAMF Sound ) on board, who are going to work with state-of-the-art sound tools to give the film the complete, crisp mix of a studio film.
We are beyond excited to bring this story to you, and all donations are incredibly appreciated. Let's make a movie!

WHAT THE MONEY WILL BE USED FOR:
The funds will be used for: 1. Paying our sound team of Ferdinand Almalvex and Matt Brodnick
their daily rate for a 2-day shoot, their equipment rentals (microphones and mixing equipment)
as well as their post production editing costs, coming out to around $5,000. 2. Paying our
director of photography Ian Hussey his daily rate, his camera equipment rentals (lenses and a
steadicam) as well as a fee for his work on coloring the film in post production, coming out to
around $1000. 3. Production design costs (lights for the space, props, and decorations) coming
out to around $400. 4. Paying an editor to edit the film their daily rate, coming out to around
$500. 5. Submitting to film festivals and marketing the film. coming out to around $500. Since
we have raised additional funds, those will be going to pay the 6 actors in the piece $100 each,
coming out to $600. As well, we are hoping to save the rest of the money for renting out spaces
for screenings in the L.A area.
