Taking Care of Bella

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

My mom and my sister, Shelley, found a female German Shepherd near Morrison Elementary in Norwalk (LA County). She was walking around the streets wearing a red collar with no number/name on it, and didn't have a microchip either. My family called animal control to help catch her but quickly learned she would potentially be taken to a high-kill shelter. So instead my mom scooped the dog into her arms (to the dismay of the animal control rep) and took her home to take care of her temporarily until they find a new home for her. The dog, now named Bella, had skin lesions and ticks when they found her and was very thin, and her stretched udders indicated that she was a recent mother. She ended up eating 4 bowls of dog food, 2 bowls of water, and a whole bowl of cooked chicken as her first meal at our home.

Our vet later confirmed that Bella had given birth to multiple litters of puppies despite being only 1-2 years and suspects that she was kept as a breeder dog. Our family is now adamant about not returning Bella to her original owners and would like to find her a new loving home. Bella is gentle, sweet, and has quickly become very attached to my family, and us to her. But we're trying to be realistic about the situation and hope to find a new home for her soon.

My parents alternate working 7 days a week as small business owners, and Shelley is taking classes and does not have a source of regular income. We're also raising Senah, our 1-year-old Pungsan pup, and I personally fear that raising two large dogs would put a strain on my family down in LA. My family is stubborn and notorious for helping others regardless of the cost, and I'd like to help share the financial burden.

I hope you would consider pitching in to help my family take care of Bella until she's at her 100% and finds a new home. If you or someone you trust is interested in adopting Bella, please reach out.

The donations would help cover the cost of:
- All shots ( 6 total, along with de-worming medication)
- Microchipping
- Ticks and fleas treatment for both Bella and Senah
- Spay surgery
- Food and other nourishments
- Resources spent on travel and finding a new owner
- Other miscellaneous costs (leash, collar, bedding)

Thanks for your support and consideration!

Much love,
Stella
