Take the Cake

My name is Krissy Gibson, and I am the founder of Take the Cake. I started TTC a year ago because I love baking. I now supply five stores with my cakes. TTC also trades in three weekend farmers' markets. The bulk of our business has been through direct orders from our menu. Our first year has gone incredibly well, and our products have been well-received. Our Facebook page (Take the Cake Dublin) has generated over 700 Likes organically, and our website (www.takethecake.ie) has brought us consistent business. My products have received consistent positive reviews, and I have met so many wonderful people.
To date, my husband Kevin Gibson and I have funded Take the Cake ourselves, and from TTC revenue. In order to continue our venture, we need to raise more funding and hopefully even hire someone. We need this help as soon as possible. All donations would be seen as heroic gestures that would not go unappreciated.
Here are some of our more urgent requirements for which we need to raise funds:
Continuing shelf-life and microbiological testing
Refrigerated commercial delivery vehicle lease
Personalised gazebo for market trading
Display refrigerator for markets
Commercial sink for markets
Commercial kitchen rental
Market rent
Ingredients/supplies
Packaging/labels
Kitchen equipment
Large Igloo coolers
...And by 2019 I would like to open my own bakery.
Within that same timeframe, we would like to make nation-wide deliveries possible.
Your support would mean the world to me. Even €5 would be a heroic gesture. I am at a crossroads right now, having to decide whether to continue TTC or give it up. I really do not want to give it up, because I feel it has come too far. So many of you have already helped -- my regular customers are the ones who have kept this business afloat. I will always be grateful to you for helping me get TTC off the ground.
Lastly, to my sister Jennifer Pepping, my sister-in-law Dee Gibson and my friends Sarah Covalt and Eldrid O'Driscoll, I want to thank you for encouraging me in these last few weeks especially.
