We (Take Action El Paso County) are a group of local community members from El Paso County, CO brought together by a shared concern about the addiction industry moving in near our schools, parks, and libraries. We've heard the stories from California and Florida. We've seen what's already happened in our home state.

While we have great compassion for those who struggle with addiction, it's become apparent privately funded addiction industry companies lack adequate oversight and accountability, and therefore, we believe these businesses should not operate near schools, parks, and libraries (areas children frequent).
100% of all donations received will go directly towards supporting the movement in, but not limited to, the following ways:
-Engaging and retaining legal counsel in support of any efforts to prevent the establishment and operation of addiction industry companies in the vicinity of schools, parks, playgrounds, and public libraries
- Supplies to create signs, flyers, and other informational items
- Venues for meetings with the public
Disclaimer:
Take Action El Paso County is strictly a volunteer organization. Members, regardless of their tenure or position with the organization, have never and will never receive, from donated funds, compensation, monetary or otherwise, for their time and effort. Upon the dissolution of Take Action El Paso County, all remaining financial assets will be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government, for a public purpose.
