My mother's wish

Donation protected
This is a true story of Mother's Love & Sacrifice.
This donation is for my mother. Usually, I'm not the type of person to open up about my life and I most definitely do not feel comfortable asking any body for help but when it comes to this issue. Like for many of you when it comes to our moms, I take this problem very seriously. Let me first introduce you to my mother. Her name is Pamela Lane and in my life, she is one of the toughest people I know and I mean that in the sense that no matter what I watched the world throw at her, she never broke. She held fast. Long past when most would have quit. Her story started long before I was born. My moms' life seemed to be going in the right direction she graduated from high school, was following her dream of going to med school. She was working as a nurse when she met my father. The two fell for each other and a year later I was conceived. Unfortunately, this fairy tale took a dark turn at this point. My mother noticed discoloration on her skin and in her test, they found she had Lupus (Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissue. This results in symptoms such as inflammation, swelling, and damage to joints, skin, kidneys, blood, the heart, and lungs. Because it can lead to cardiovascular disease, lupus can kill women in their 20s by causing heart attacks and strokes. People with lupus can also die at young ages due to infections that are related to the immune-suppressing drugs taken to control the disease). At that time little to no research was done on the disease and it was uncommon and there where little to no treatments. Which is what lead to this poor womans' hardships to follow. First, 6 months before my birth she was told she could not practice medicine anymore and she lost her nursing job. Then the month I was born, my father left her in a cowardly fashion by leaving a break-up note and disappearing.
My mother was lost in a world with a newborn, no job and people wouldn't give her the time of day. Because of the physical markings from lupus on her skin, it was nearly impossible for her to even get a job interview or find love. She then was forced out of customer based jobs and worked in a factory for the first 4 years. Luckily, she had a good baby sitterand a supporting family what few we are, but it took away from the time she wanted to spend with me. Several years into my life tragedy struck again.... My mother was raped and what followed after scared her to death. She found out she was pregnant with her rapists' child. She told me later when I was an adult, even though what happened was horrible she couldn't bear the thought of punishing a child for it so she keep the secret to her self for a long time. Five years into my life my brother was born. My mother moved around a lot after that because I assumed, it was really hard to make ends meet. Despite that and the overwhelming odds against her, we never went hungry. Even though we lived in a few motels, we always had a roof over our heads. My mother in time met two other men who were the fathers of my other brother and sister sadly they did not stick around. Bringing her count to four mouths to feed on her own. My mother still made time to teach us the lessons we needed in life and showed us unconditional love.  She was always willing to help others no matter what it took away from her. It was confusing for me but I started to see that seeing others do great in life brought her happiness.
So let's bring this to present day because I could go on and on about how I watched her take life on like she was a pro boxer. Always getting knocked around and getting back up, coming back and fighting harder. My mother is coming to the end of her long road and her 4 kids are grown. I have a family of my own now and thanks to my mom I commit fully to my kids
My mom has shown us that no matter how hard life gets, no matter how many people tell you no, in life if you stand strong and try hard to keep the smile on your face and enjoy the gifts life leaves you, you'll never be miserable or unhappy.
What I want to do with these funds is give my mom a chance she never had. She's been trying but regrettably, failing to obtain, the right kind of medical treatment, or finally living in a house. So we want to get her a home and proper medical care WE Will Also Donate To The lupus research alliance. Unfortunately, I do not have the financial means because I'm raising a family of my own and helping her pay her medical bills and saving to get her a home. We live together in a small two bedroom apartment and she sleeps on a couch she has no where left to go and she loves seeing her grandkids. I believe my mom deserves more than what I can give her. She has been through so much she never drank or did drugs she is all ways so kind. So I'm asking all of you for your help. Please, help me in giving this courageous, beautiful, giving mother the one thing she needs in life. A fighting chance, & A place to call her own. Thank you for your time.
