My name is Glenn Zimmerman and I am Tabitha Schulke's grandfather. I'm doing this site to help raise money for her and her mother to get a wheelchair van. Right now they have a 7 passenger mini van for there family of 8. The family consists of Donna and her 3 children Tabitha, Zach, and Cassidy and Donna's sister Katie and her 3 children Anthony, Grace, and Benjamin. Donna has raised Benjamin since he was 5 months old,  he is now 5 years old and is special needs so  he is like a son to Donna. They all live together in Monmouth, Oregon. Tabitha is Donna's oldest daughter and my oldest granddaughter. She has had a major health struggle these past few months. Tabitha was in the hospital for over 80 days and had to have double leg amputations and all of her organs went into failure. My daughter Donna had to say goodbye to her daughter Tabitha 12 times during this ordeal. I know God brought her back for a reason. Tabitha has an amazing testimony about how God worked in her life and produced a miracle recovery that baffled doctors! She has wanted to be a missionary and work in an orphanage in Africa since she was 8 years old. She volunteers to feed the homeless, teach Sunday School and is an Awana kids club leader  for 5th and 6th grade girls which she loves to do. Four days before she got sick she was giving out food boxes to families for Thanksgiving. She is such an amazing young woman! I'm so proud of her! For more information on her journey past and present go to   http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tabithaschulke She is now at home and trying to recover. Her family is trying to adjust to a new life of wheelchair accessibilities, appointments and medication .They are so happy she is still with them and praising God for the miracle he did for her. The family is trying to raise money for medical expenses and a wheelchair 8 passenger van as the family is unable to go anywhere together. Tabitha has about 5 or 6 appointments every week. Her insurance has not been covering many of her medically needed expenses .So they need to get a van large enough and reliable enough to go back and forth between Portland, Salem and Monmouth.

Other ways to help:  There is a fund at US bank called The Tabitha Schulke fund or Tabitha & Donna have a PO box you can send things to, also letters and cards- PO Box 565 Monmouth,Oregon 97361. you can also donate through PayPal, you can send it to zimsisters1@yahoo.com that  is the Paypal email. Thank you in advance.

Update 3

Hello everyone, Tabitha is maintaining. The infections seem to be under control and she's able to get around in the wheel chair. Between the concert fundraiser and gofundme a small amount of the needed money was raised. The decision was made to try and repair the van that they already had. That turned into a money pit. A couple of weeks ago my wife and I decided to try and purchase a van for Tabitha and the family. With God's help a 2012 eight passenger van was purchased. Now all eight members of the family can go places together in a reliable van. Consequently we're not trying to raise money for the van now. Tabitha will never work and there are still a lot of expenses. Thank you to all that prayed and sent money. Thank you; Glenn Zimmerman (grandfather)

Update 2

Tabitha has to go back to the hospital for surgery on Nov 26, 2013 to remove her left knee and leg due to unstopped infection in the bone. We're still working on the Van project. Social Security still hasn't awarded her disability so things are really tight as she has a lot of expenses that insurance doesn't cover. Anything helps and especially PRAYER for Tabitha. Thank you, her grandfather, Glenn Zimmerman

Tabitha didn't make the semi-finals in the competion for a free van. This makes it even more important to raise funds for Tabitha and a Van she can use. Donations can be made through Gofundme or US bank. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
