Noah Lamb's Recovery

As some of you may know, my son Noah was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma last week. What began as some swollen glands and a trip to the pediatrician quickly turned into a whirlwind of imaging scans and surgical biopsies. The news came: Noah had cancer. Heavy hearts. But this is treatable, curable. He has an excellent prognosis. After several 21 day cycles of chemo therapy we have hope he will be cancer free. He began the first cycle Friday last week and other than an upset stomach took it well, as I knew he would. We were able to return home Monday. There will be times when his immune system is vulnerable, when his white blood count will be low. During these times germs are our enemies. There will be lots of books and movies and video games. Noah will be "home-bound" for school. His own teacher volunteered (amazing) to come to our house a few hours a week. He will miss soccer, karate, choir, and his friends until next spring or summer. But he will return stronger, resilient and with a new lust for life, as will Kristy and I. This will be a tough journey, one wrought with both anxiety and daily victories. We have an excellent, even world class, team of doctors at The Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Together we will beat this. Noah will KICK CANCER'S BUTT!

I shared this on Facebook this afternoon, and recieved an outpouring of support. So many have approached my family offering help.  The funds raised here will enable us to be together and ease the costs of his treatment and missing work.
