Help Bring Kendra - Linn Home

Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Sandi Martinson, and my husband Tom and I desperately need your help.
We are trying to adopt our grand daughter Kendra - Linn and bring her back to us.
We had Kendra - Linn in our home with us for 4 years, from the ages of 18 months until age 5 1/2 years.
Kendra - Linn was our world. I potty trained her, bottle broke her, taught her her ABC'S, her address, ect. She was very happy with us, and looked at our home as her home, which it was.  In short our world was good and intact until Oct. of 2013 when I had a routine colonoscopy and the Dr. injured my spleen.
CPS told me that they could only give me 10 days to recover and if I hadn't that they would have to remove our Kendra - Linn.  No one can possibly recover from a spleen injury in that amount of time and I was no exception so they came and removed Kendra - Linn and ultimately placed her in foster care in Curran, Michigan.
Unfortunetly, her parents were forced to sign off their rights to Kendra - Linn in June or July of 2014.  I tried to find out who I needed to contact to adopt her that very day. Her worker told me that she would contact me and let me know what to do to get the ball started.   By the time she contacted me to tell me the name of the adoption agency and adoption worker her foster family had already petitioned to adopt her. I was informed that I would be in competition with them for my own grand daughter. I couldn't believe that a state that brags that they look to place children with family FIRST would do this to us.
Right out of the gate they didn't want her returned to us or the home she loved and longed to return to. They turned us down and we appealed only to be turned down again.  They have seen my tears and heart break over Kendra - Linn not being with us but they don't care.
Now, the case is with MCI in Lansing Michigan which has the final say on whether she will be returned to us or if Kendra - Linn and her family that loves and needs her so desperately will have to learn to live without each other.
Last week I found a number for Kendra - Linn's foster family. I just had to call to ask how she is doing and find out if they had heard anything about the adoption since I have not heard anything yet. I got the shock of my life! Mrs. Peace told me that they didn't know how Kendra - Linn is doing because she is no longer with them! Mrs. Peace told me that other than loving her, the reason they petitioned to adopt her is because they were told none of her birth family wanted anything to do with her. She also told me that when they learned my husband and I had petitioned to adopt her that they withdrew their petition. Mrs. Peace said that having had her for over a year that they know how much she loves us and how happy she was with us and how desperately she wants to come home. Mrs. Peace said they thought she was home with us until 2 weeks ago when they recieved a phone call from the agency where Kendra - Linn's CPS worker works saying Kendra - Linn has been moved into 4 different foster homes since she left their home this past Oct.!!
We have been told that if MCI still turns us down to adopt Kendra - Linn that we have a right to apeal that decision. I've spoken to lawyers about this matter and they said we have to have a lawyer as soon as possible that can fight and fight hard to get her back for us. The cost of a lawyer to take this case on is up to 5,000 dollars and that's is only if there isn't more charges that they don't forsee involved. I have asked for 6,000 to ensure that we will have the money to give them if this should happen. My husband and I are on a fixed income therefore we have no money to obtain a lawyer and the agency knows this. One lawyer I spoke with told me " this is a racket, they don't have your grand daughter's best interest at heart, and they certainly don't have your best interest at heart." He is absolutely right!! They don't care about the fact they are destroying families at all.
We are a proud family and it's very hard for me to come on here and ask strangers that I don't know to help us with donations. If it wasn't for my grand daughter being in the balance I wouldn't. I don't know if we'll beat this or not, but I know one thing for sure, if we don't have a lawyer we don't stand a chance!
Imagine if this were your grandchild or loved one. You have no idea how bad this hurts unless you've lived it and I pray that none of you EVER has to live this. It's a nightmare you simply can't wake up from. I know where ever Kendra - Linn is, that she is thinking she has done something wrong. She wondering why Nana and Papa aren't coming to get her? I also know she is scared and wants to come home so badly.
I pray that you can find it somewhere in your hearts to help reunite our family. No matter how small the donation is, it will be so appreciated. We owe each and every one of you that helps us a debt we can never repay for trying to help us. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and I can also tell you Kendra - Linn thanks you too. With your help maybe her tears will be dried and her nightmares will stop and ours too.
May God bless you all for caring.
