I am a 44-year-old male, I became paraplegic after my second spine surgery at U.W. (University of Washington) in May 2016.
All this started as Melioidosis Bacteria in Thailand where I was for my honeymoon in August 2015. Having returned to Africa-Sudan, I went into a coma for 19 days to be airlifted to the American Hospital in Paris. I had stayed there for 90 days until I regained consciousness.
December 2015, I was flown to U.W. Where they found Aspergilousus Fungal infection in my Spinal Cord. U.W. failed to treat the infection by all kinds of Antibiotics.
May 5, 2016: I underwent my second surgery. I felt my legs and was even able to wiggle my toes the next two days after the surgery. However, on the third day, I got paralyzed from T5 down.
Your support is crucial in my efforts to solve the problem. I strive for gaining full functionality and being able to walk again. I am motivated to do all kinds of physical therapy, but it does not help much. Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville, FL made me hopeful again to restore my health and full control over my lower extremity at least.
