Tennis Court Repairs & a Water Fountain
I am Tina McCall-Waters Founder/CEO of Denton Johnson Tennis Corporation a not-for-profit organization. Through partnership with Orange County School Board and Hungerford Elementary School, Denton Johnson Tennis Corporation (DJTC) was awarded "The Field of Dreams" grant from Orange County. With this grant DJTC has added the first phase of a tennis facility to afford the kids attending Hungerford Elementary, The Boys & Girls Club of Eatonville, and local kids of Eatonville the opportunity to learn the game of tennis at no cost.
The program services more than 500 kids a year, and continues to seek additional funding to support ongoing maintenance and support.
Immediate needs include:
"¢ Installation of a water fountain near the courts - Currently kids in the program are hydrated via coolers, ice and bottled water that are supplied through donations or via the Boys & Girls Club. It would be offset any health and safety concerns and be more economical to have access to water near the tennis courts
"¢ Repair of the fence surrounding the tennis courts which currently presents a safety concern - The fence surrounding the tennis courts is showing signs of wear and needs repair for safety reasons
"¢ Replacement of the bleacher screen/shade covers - The bleacher screen/shade cover is also showing signs of wear. The bleacher area is the main area where our kids can get out of the sun while hydrating themselves and resting during breaks.
The area where the courts are located is open and has no trees or buildings that would allow shade during peak practice time. Currently we facilitate escorting groups to The Boys & Girls Club for water, cool down and bathroom breaks. We graciously appreciate The Boys & Girls club for allowing access to their facility.
Let me thank you in advance for any support you can provide. I am confident that this goal can be met with everyone's gracious contribution. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
