Nepal Earthquake fund - Dolakha

Donation protected
At least 3617 people have been confirmed dead and almost 6500 people have been injured following a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal.

This figure is undoubtedly going to rise as access to facilities and care is extremely limited.

We are a group of returned volunteers who have previously spent 3 months working in the Dolakha region.

The people in the most remote areas of Nepal are particularly vulnerable and hard to reach. Dolakha has poor transport links and is highly susceptible to landslides. The largest aftershock at 6.7 was in the region, only adding to the devastation caused by the initial earthquake.

We are devastated to hear that Dolakha has been badly affected by the earthquake and so we are collecting money here intially to then give to the Restless Development's Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

Restless Development are already doing excellent work in Nepal. Their volunteers have been arranging tents, medicines and blood donations in sports stadiums where people are camping out in the open. They have also involved groups of young people in the more rural areas to help with efforts their and they are planning a youth mobilisation movement across the country for quick action and maintained response.

Importantly, Restless are well-established in Dolakha and with the help of their partner NGO, CEEPAARD they will be there to maintain long-term support in the region looking into the future, after many of the emergency relief organisations pull out.

Please donate to our cause, and help Restless Development and CEEPAARD make a big difference.

Here is some information about the situation so far and the Charity, Restless Development:

CEEPARD is the Community Environment Education Public Awareness and Rural Development based in Charikot, Dolakha. They are partner NGO with Restless Development in the region and provide support mainly in the areas of Public Health and Awareness. They are well equipped and established to have a big impact on long-term aid in the region.
