I have hit my minimum goal of $5,000! But I really want to try and hit that target goal, so I am extending the deadline of this campaign one more month (to 09/20/2017). Synesthesia is the phenomenon where one sensory experience simultaneously invokes an experience of another sense. This event explores the fragile boundaries between senses with interactive installation art, accompanied by live musical performances and visuals. Each installation piece responds to the viewer's interaction with a combination of sensory experiences.
This exhibit would give the audience an uplifting and intriguing night that will release them from the mundane. The interactivity of each piece will immerse the audience into the installation. For the curious member, it will give them a glimpse or inspiration into the possibilities of art and technology.
The installations featured at the exhibit, without giving too much away. Titles are temporary and descriptive:
(1) Wind Tunnel: As an audience member walks through this hallway, their presence will activate various fans and sound windchimes creating a peaceful experience akin to a breezy front porch. This "tunnel" will lead the Audience from the active music to the interactive installation, it should give a sense of leading to a new experience.
(2) Light Pillars: In a separate dark space, tall pillars will be spaced apart that create various lights and sounds. The lights and sounds are triggered in an algorithmic sequence, however are also interactive. They will sense the touch/hover of multiple audience members' hands and respond with dramatic changes in light, sound, and smoke.
The installations and live musical performances will be spaced around a venue making it a night to explore the music and art. Any extra money raised (for the stretch goal) will add to the quality of performers, visuals, and promoting. These installations will continue to be exhibited in different settings and events after the original event. I thank you so, so much for your time, interest, most of all support in this endeavor. It will be an amazing experience for all those who can join, and continue to manifest so many others can too!
