A dear friend and business colleague, Sydney LeBlanc, had her life turned upside down this week when she suffered two strokes. Sydney is a professional writer/editor and has been self-employed for many years.  As many of you know, being self-employed has it's ups and downs and in order to make ends meet she often works 12 or more hours a day.  Of course, her strokes have it impossible to do this now. [Go to www.sydneyleblanc.com/about to learn more about her impressive career.]

Because Sydney always puts the needs of others above her own, she often struggles financially. This quote is included at the bottom of her emails and is a motto she definitley lives by:

"You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.” ― John Bunyan, Writer, 1628-1688

Sydney often works for little or nothing for someone who is struggling financially and is always available to lend a listening ear to friends... and everyone is a friend to Sydney.  I've known her to sit beside a homeless man and join in singing so he can earn a few coins, and she has given many of her personal belongings to the homeless, leaving her to live a minimalistic lifestyle.

Sydney is a pet lover and the tears she sheds are usually caused by the abuse of an animal. Her cat, Tangerine, was adopted from the Humane Society and is eagerly awaiting  her return home.

Sydney has not had children and is not married. Instead she has made Tangerine, friends (including two brothers) and work her life. Now, I'm asking her friends to step up and help her in her time of need. I know she would do the same for you.

Hospital bills are mounting and we have found that her insurance will not cover all of them. During her recuperation period she will not be able to work like she did before. To help cover hospital/rehab, doctors and living expenses, we ask you to reach deep into your hearts and give what you can to help this wonderful caring person.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your generosity.

Sorry it has taken me so long to update you on Sydney's progress. She is now home from inpatient rehab and will continue on an outpatient basis. Her progress has been extraordinary, and with her will and determination, I'm sure a full recovery is attainable. While Medicare will cover a large portion of the mounting costs, your contributions have been extremely helpful in covering deductibles and other expenses. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
